Best street/track brake pad
Looking for a brake pad that is not noisy (or low noise), doesnt leave excessive dust, but delivers good solid braking performance. I already have SS brake lines, Motul fluid, slotted Brembo rotors. The pads Im using now are by Hawk but they dont have the "bite" I want. Before that I had Axxis Metal Matrix pads, which were better than the Hawks but I wanted to try something different, and more agressive. Any info will be appreciated.

I find Porterfield R4-S pads to do exactly what you describe. With the proper bed-in procedure, brake to a craw several times until pads fade, and then cool, the pads are then good for a beating at the track. They are also high coefficient and good for street at normal street temps.

There isn't one.
Either it'll dust a lot, or it won't bite well. Or it'll run too cold. Or, it may work on the street, but it'll be loud as **** and dust a metric ton.

Brake noise is cool. White wheels with Carbotech PantherPlus pads is cool.
You can't have it all. Like bb6h22a said, it's always a tradeoff. The better they stop, the noisier they are and the more they dust. I say stick it out, turn up the radio and clean off those wheels every week, because I'm a brake *****.

I humbly request you NOT use Bobcats on track. They might work for you. They might not. Something like a Panther Plus or XP8 (depending on tires, vehicle weight, experience) is a far better option to put on at home and drive to/from the track.

I've been beating my Panther Plus pads on and off the track daily for over 20,000 miles and have nothing but good to say about them. They're actually pretty quiet most of the time, and the dust... well, lets just say white wheels don't help hide it. But they get
from me.
I was warned away from Bobcats when I called to order as well, they just can't take the heat of track use, from what I remember. It's been a couple years...

Looked on the Porterfield (R4-S) site and found no application for the 1995 Civic Ex sedan w/ABS and 4 wheels discs. But it is available for the Civic Ex coupe w/ABS and 4 wheel discs. Dont they use the same brakes?

If you're really interested in the Porterfield's, call them and talk to Tim. They're able to fit just about anything you could think of.

Coupe EX w/abs uses the same brakes as the Sedan EX w/abs. In and of the EG civics, I believe only the abs equipped cars came with rear discs. The EG sedan/coupe w/abs uses the same brakes as the DC2 integra with the exception to the Type-R.
DC2/EG(w/abs & rear-disc) FMSI reference numbers:
FRONT>D617
REAR>>D374
Edit: there is one difference, the hb Si w/o abs uses FMSI D273 (DX-sized brakes) for the front, but D374 for the rear; it is the only EG that came with rear discs but no abs.

all year around good pad. From what I have heard... Cobalt pads are great on the street. Try their website for which pad works best for your needs.
I use Cobalt VRs track and street and love 'em
But I don't recommend a pad like this for DD.. way to expensive to waste

Not a better pad on the market, IMO.
You specifically mentioned bite and well, that's one of the biggest reasons I continue to use the 1108 (XP8). Awesome bite.

I agree. I've used these pads on my DX coupe for a number of track days (3 at Streets of Willow and 1 at Cali Speedway), plus a lot of street miles. They've always been good to me.
