Default JDM ITR into my LS Integra

HT...The time has come, only 3 weeks after swapping my B20 non vtec motor into my LS integra to swap again. This time its a JDM ITR motor with an 00 B16 Tranny and some fun stuff to go along with it.

I've never had a vtec motor in my LS before. The motor is an OBD2 motor but I plan on putting my entire OBD1 harness onto that motor before I put it in. What will I need in order to make it run absolutely flawless? I'm the type of person that needs to have every single part I will need before I begin the swap.

Will my LS axles and Intermediate shaft work?
What ECU?

Mounts are new from the last swap so thats taken care of.

What am I forgetting?

axles and itermediate shaft will work
any b-serie vtec ecu will work (pref. p-73)
and ls engine mounts will work

might need to wire up the Vtec Solenoid, Knock sensor & Vtec pressure Switch

if it's GSR motor then IAB solenoid as well

good luck~

Thanks for your replies...

Does anyone know any good HOW TO's or anything like that on how to wire the necessary sensors and the vtec solenoid. I've always dealt with non-vtec motors so this is an experience for me.

I'm planing to do this too so, someone chime in on what you have to do to SMOG one of these motors...

And isn't it better to use the ITR axles since they are thicker?

I always thought JDM one's are thicker or longer than USDM one's, NO?

I don't see why they'd be longer if the chasis is the same... I thought the ITR axles are just thicker for the extra power...

A good place for a how to on a VTEC installation is http://www.g2ic.com. They have a Teg-Tips section where you can see instructions for an LS/VTEC conversion. In there you shoudl be able to find how to wire it up.

Now can anybody tell me where I can find a Manual Tranny to fit on my LS automatic.. I have a turbo kit and a B16 head...

way to jack this guys thread...

back on topic..g2ic.com has tips about wiring vtec into nonvtec cars....

if you really want it to run right...get a chipped p28 since your going to obd1, and get it tuned using neptune or some other program...

Thanks for everyones responses so far!

Along with the swap is coming an OBD1 Hondata ECU so I'm gunna put that in and see how it runs but I've also got a few other obd1 ecus I've located in my area incase it runs crappy..

What about my distributor? The motor is being converted from OBD2 to OBD1 so what distributor will I have to use?

Note: Swap has been delayed until I can take a day off of work hopefully either thursday or friday and spend more time on it instead of rushing. I'm hoping to take pics and post a huge timeline of my car since its never once seen HT.

Thanks again for everyones help

Aright...Just picked up the motor and it isnt in the shape I thought it was. The person who had it before me said that he blew his tranny and when doing so, the crank pulley fell off. I found that a little weird so just now when I picked up this motor, the entire flywheel/clutch/p.p. was able to shake around pretty loosely but not come all the way off. First thing that came to my mind was that he spun a bearing?? My B20 is still in my car and I don't have to trade unless I want to so its all up to me now. What do you guys think about this?

I've never seen anything like it.
