Pennzoil Synthetic...anyone hear any bad things?
My friend can hook me up with Pennzoil Synthetic at the same price as regular oil with their filter.
This is my 3rd oil change since I had the car. I'm going on 19,000kms. I've always used Honda OEM from the dealer. The problem with the dealer is that they keep my car for altleast 1hour (or 2, for an oil change!?) And I'm sure it's some young punk working for $8 an hour who just hates his job... Not to mention, at penzoil I can get under the car with my friend and have a look around. He does a really good job and CARES for other peoples cars....
I've seen this topic discussed before, but mostly about Mobil-1 (atleast that's all search pulled up ). I'm just wondering if their oil is any good....
TIA

How much does Mobil-1 cost? I pay $30 CDN for the filter and oil change. I think their normail price is somewhere around $80 CDN.
Is it worth that much extra?

you can be sure that any synthetic oil will always be superior to any natural oils.
if you can get a great deal on penzoil synthetic then go for it.........

can you guys actually tell the difference between the different kind of oils when you use them? i'll give 5 bucks to anyone that can pass a blind test
I have always used Mobil 1 syn. 10w30 until my last oil change. I bought Royal Purple 5w-30 this last time beacuse I talked to a couple of people and they seem very impressed. I always keep a log of my car's mpg. I used to get about 25.5 mpg in the city diving hard all the time. Since my last oild change I've been getting 27-27.5 mpg. I always drive the same way and I haven't used the heater or AC in about 1 month. I am not saying Royal Purple is better, but my car's fule efficiency seemed to have improved since I switched oils.
wow, I'm sold, I think I'll try out some Royal Purple on my next oil change. I always see it in the store but never checked the price or anything how much is it?

I know 5w30 is a thiner oil, but I did not know it would help my car's efficiency that much.
Royal Purple cost about $1 more than Mobil1 and it is guaranteed for 7k miles.
Next time I might try Mobil1 5w30 and see what happens.
