Default Rotor Over Hub Conversion (Extra Information)

First, great write-up by Daniel M.!

I got this info from http://www.acuraoemparts.com.

It seems that Acura had come up with a retrofit kit for the front rotors on the 98-99 Acura 2.3 CL (I didn't check the 3.0). The graphic from their parts browser shows the two rotor types side-by-side.

If you cross-reference the Acura bearing with the Honda bearing (mine is a 97 Accord) you will see they are the same Honda part number (44200-SM1-008). You can also see that the original disk (the funky one) is the same Honda part number (45251-SM4-020). The hubs are also the same (44600-SM4-020).

Hope this helps.

rotor over hub is cool but it just doesnt seem worth the money or time unless for some reason you change your rotors every 6 months...

Is that the right part number? That is the part number for the Accord hub (I have it sitting here), but the acuraoemparts.com website you listed above has it listed as the hub for the CL. That doesn't seem right??

EDIT: The correct CL part number should be 44600-SY8-A00 correct? I believe that above website is wrong....

Great info, I've been trying to get an answer about the Rotor over Hub conversion because I have the oppurtunity to grab parts from my friend's totaled 92 Prelude and I wanted to know if I used the hubs from the prelude, would that negate the UCA and lower balljoint that we just replaced on the accord.
