Default 93 honda accord rotor over hub conversion

I have a 93 Honda Accord (only 110,000 miles on it) I went in to get front brakes replaced and was told it would be a little over $600 with parts and labor. Is this an average price? I understand why it is more expensive than replacing the rear brakes but I'm wondering if there might be a more cost effective approach. Maybe a rotor over hub conversion? Don't know if this will cost me about the same initially or not. Any thoughts?

If they are needing to replace the rotors because they're not able to be turned, which means it can't be serviced any more or it will be below spec then I can see it costing that much. However if the rotor can still be turned, which means they will use a lathe that is able to be used on the rotor without taking the rotor off the car then that is really expensive for just the front brakes. Most shops have a lathe that attached to the wheel and it turns without pulling the rotors. If your shop doesn't have one then go to someone that does have one. Unless they are specifically saying it's below the service limit.

If you go with all new parts, then yes the initial cost to do the conversion is close (I paid around $550ish,but I upgraded to VTEC calipers and rotors) but absoloutley worth it if you plan to keep the vehicle(mine was totaled)
