Default Blown Rex

Well guys, I blew my d15b motor in my dx. I have put a lot of money into my car and the motor was next on my list. I need some help now. I have a limited amount of funds and I wanted to know if anyone has a cheap motor that I could put in my rex. I would prefer it to be close due to shipping costs but show me what you have. I need anything that's cheap.

I have a D16A1 blacktop complete with trans, 89 dohc integra engine a mild upgrade when compared to the b series but when you compare the prices/ horsepower its unmatched. You could put together a homemadeturbo kit with some forged internals and headgasket which would easily make damn near 300hp on a 1.6l platform and it would still cost under $2000.00. Also the tranny has long gearing which would complement a turbo setup nicely. Nothing to change out, no banging on the frame, no hasport motor mounts, no ecu swaps or if you get a newer ecu no harness conversion kit or hydralic clutch conversion, no heated O2 sensors back all the way were the cat is at. Really the only thing that would require some effort installing the engine is finding the turbo parts and doing internal engine work. Well if your intrested PM me.

http://www.homemadeturbo.com/t...ce_ZC/. They have some of the craziest turboed ZC around

Specs:

D16a1 blacktop
horsepower 118 @ 6500rpms
torque 103 @ 5500rpms
bore/stroke 75.00mm/90.00mm
comp/ratio: 9.5:1
piston dome valve @ 7.2cc

Nice engine...too bad it won't bolt into the 88-91 civic/crx like the ZC will. The d16a1 uses different mounts than the 88-91 civic/crx. It will bolt into the 1st gen crx and 3rd gen civic.

The thread title isn't a blatant FS thread title so it hasn't triggered the el vap radar....

If you do a search you will find that the 89 blacktop is the exact engine as the zc except for the cam profile. On the other hand the 87-88 brown tops are the ones that will not bolt in directly.

Umm.. I have tried swapping in an 89 d16a1 into an 88-91 civic/crx and it does not bolt in. If it was a bolt in why do you never hear of the motor being swapped????

Longest-surviving WTB thread I've ever seen! I'm rooting for it now.

Good luck getting that motor d00d

If you want to wait a month or two I'll have a minty d15b2 available in the Cincinnati area.

All I want is an engine to put into my car. I'm not trying to **** people off. Sorry that I posted in the CRX/EF civic forum. I figured you all would be able to help me faster. So if anyone does have an engine they want to get rid of, that runs, pm me or post. Thanks.
