Default Check out my pad

I just opened my Spec VR's from the package today. The two pads were kinda stuck together from the wrapping being so tight. Anyways, I was going to still put the pad on, however when I looked at the pad, it looks like a little chunk of the material might come off during braking. Check out the pad. I'm sure it's nothing I just wanted some other opinions.

Don't install them. Contact the cobalt distributor first about replacement. If that doesn't work, then contact cobalt friction directly.

Personally, I'd put the ******* on and BRAKE!

Still, let Andie know, see what he thinks, maybe get a better picture? Maybe you can get a credit towards your next set.

Apparently, this is a normal wear pattern for Cobalt. No matter, I have a set on my car and a set in the toolbox.

Hahaha only you could do such damage to pads! I guess mine (single) pad isn't bad after all. I ended up e-mailin Andie, see what he says, besides it's only a 1/2 hour away from the house to Cobalt.

try and get a macro shot of it so everyone can see better of how it looks and how much actually was taken off the pad.

They are new pads and Andie is a good person with a rep to uphold. I would contact Cobalt and let them know

Chris

those look like the older spec VR's where people have mentioned there seems to be problems with the brake material coming off the backing... but andie has taken care of anyone with this problem.

the newer ones, the one with the blue backing seem like the issue isnt so predominant.

the upper left picture you show seems more of a stuck caliper pin issue.

These were purchased late last year.

The top right one was on the same side as the one with the backing plate that came off, hence the funny wear pattern.
