1989 Accord LXi cranks but wont start.
1989 Accord lxi
Tried using battery jumper
*Battery okay*
*fuel okay*
*no leaks anywhere*
*fuel pump turns on when key is turned*
It just won't crank over... Belongs to a friend he just is computer illiterate so I'm posting for him.
How much do starters run for these cars?
Do these cars have a history of relays or fuses not working in hot weather? (It's been scorching lately)

I'll borrow from another post I responded to:
"If this primarily happens during very hot weather, you may be the victim of the dreaded Main Relay attack. Basically, the relay solder joints crack over age and when warm break connection; and when it cools off at the end of the day reconnects and the car will start.
There are several avenues of thought on this:
1) Break down and buy a new relay
2) take it out and resolder the board"
The failure primarily occures when the vehicle is allowed to "Hot Soak" for several hours in the hot sun whereby the interior temp really gets up there. The vehicle will grank without problem but will not start. Traditionally, you'll get so cranked off over this that you leave in total frustration until several hours later; where you either have to
1) get it out of the Bosses parking lot and go home or
2) get it off the street for the evening.
The real kicker about it all is; when you try it, the car starts as though nothing was wrong. (and you start to question how many beers you had)
If there arn't three threads going a week about this topic, it's a slow week.
I would think you also checked for spark along the way, right?

It just won't crank over...
when u say it wont crank over you mean it wont start ?? or it wont even crank,,,because i notice u mention starter but u also said fuel ok so u need to be a bit more specific if engine turns over and just wont start the starter has nothing to do with it ,,now if it does not crank and u hear a clicking noise yes u could have a bad starter ,,
