Stereo security code
I just bought my 96 integra GSR and the battery was disconnected prior to me taking delivery and the previous owner didn't have the code. My closest dealer is 90 miles away and won't give out the code over the phone. Does anyone know anyother way to get the code?
you've got a little drive on your hands my friend...
Unless you can find a dealer that will give you the code over the phone in which case they will ask for a number on the bottom of the radio

The dealer I do business with in my area gave me the Security Code over the phone. You could try calling them up.

On the bottom of the radio ya say? Those are the numbers I gave the *** and he said they were part numbers. they would have to pull my radio for 85 bucks!
They should be able to get the code with just your VIN number. I did not have to remove my radio to tell them the numbers they wanted. If you call the place I mentioned above, they'll know what they need you to get.

Did you look at the sticker on the bottom of your ashtray? A lot of times the code is there
The thing that makes that security code come into affect is the fuse. Check w/someone who has a hayne's manual, you can just take out that fuse in the fuse box. I had to do it w/my accord
I gave them both numbers from the bottom of the radio. I didn't notice any tags on the ashtray. I'll check that before I call the deal mentioned above. I will have a stack of numbers in my hand when I call.
I was in the same situation when I bought my integra. I called Acura and they said the best they could do me was give me the phone number of the original dealership that the car was sold from when it was new. I called the dealership and a nice lady from the service department gave me the security code with no hassle. All I had to do was give her the VIN# and tell her the car was original sold from their lot.
I was waiting for a month for the dealership I bought the car from to get the code!! I finally decided to try getting it myself and all it took was two phone calls. Props to Rally Acura in LI, NY for the hassle-free service

you can't find out the code w/ the vin, you need the serial # off the bottom of the radio, sometimes they put a sticker in the glove box w/ the serial # on it. check your owners manuel it might be written down in there. if not post the serial # i can get it for you
