Default setting timing

Hey whats up guys. recently i blew my head gasket on my 1.5 non vtec on my 94 dx hatchy. the gasket blew because the eye of the water pump blew and all the anti-freeze leaked out. i put a new head gasket and i got a new head from a shop and had it tourqued dow on to the block. the motor has been set on timing and it starts when i spray starting fluide into the intake manifold after playing with the distributor but after it burns up all the fluide it shuts off. it seems to me that it isnt getting any fuel. i checked the fuel pump and had it tested and works fine. so if theres any one out there that can tell me something to help me make my car run please help.

check your fuel pressure sending unit, check the timing, and if it still dosent work swap a motor in it !!!
