Default Main Relay Problems...

I already searched a hundred threads but none had my symptoms...I just picked up another relay and plugged it in and now instead of clicking really fast like my old one, this one makes a quick static type sound when I turn the power on...WTF is going on???????

Check which CEL codes you're throwing before going any further.

Ok got the relay to work normally, fuel pump primes and everything without any strange noises...but now the check engine light does not click off. Oh yea do the two black wires that go into the relay grounded? Or do they carry power?

Yes, the PGM-FI main relay is connected with the black wires coming out of the ECM, going through the main wire harness, into the engine compartment wire harness, then terminating at the main engine wire harness.

ECT, VSS, O2, ECM, and the main relay are connected together, via the harness, to the same ground.

LOL...Ok then that *should* be the problem since the ground wires are somehow showing power...

Dude, your car has soo many ******* problems, it's not even funny. You don't even drive the damn thing. See, stock is better. No problems here.

As far as the problem goes, unless there is voltage being enduced into a ground wire, there shouldn't be any voltage there. Voltage gets enduced into a ground wire, only for a fraction of a second until something trips (in this case, a fuse). But you have constant voltage there, which I don't udnerstand. Unless, something was done to the relay, internally.

What color wires are coming to and from the relay, be detailed.

this is for a 92-95 civic, so the colors should be the same for a DelSol. But I'm not positive.

blk/yel - 12V in run or crank
blk - ground
yel/wht - constant 12V
yel/blk - ignition output (12V in run/crank)
blu/wht - 12 in crank
grn/yel - fuel pump control from ECU (ground when pump is on)
yel/grn - fuel pump output (12V when pump is on)

make sure you have power on the yel/blk wire. if you don't have that the ECU doesn't know that the car should start. (ie no spark)

it could also be the ignitor or coil...

The blue/white has no power? Check check that while you are cranking the engine. If you still have no power there that means there is a problem in the CKP circuit.
