Default S2000 Hard Tops: Which one do you have, where did you get it, and how much did you pay???

ive been looking on here and couldn't really find how much people are paying for these things. so post the info on yours if you have one, and your review of it so the rest of us that are considering one can know if it sucks or not.

http://www.hardtopguy.com go there for pricing on the OEM top.

I don't know what kind of "review" you think you're going to get but good luck with that.
The Mugen tops and have been aero tested to give a few extra mph on certain long straights at high speeds. I don't know about the Seibon, but i believe it is modeled after the Mugen top, so it may perform similarly.

hardtopguy.com just sells parts, but not the complete hard top, or i guess i just cant find it on that site. i go to s2000, and all i see is "hard top kit", which does not have the "shell" of the hard top or any of the other ****.

i just want to know how much it costs to get everything you need to have a removable hard top on an s2k.

I work at a dealer and the hardtop with the brackets and all hardware from Honda is listed at 2995 and cost is right at 2300. I don't mind telling you the cost but don't expect to get one for that...but negotiate, 2600 or so might get ya one. Again, that's not installed, but it is all the brackets, bolts, screws and kitchen sink for the OEM product directly from Honda. Just my .02 worth, I'm probably gonna go Mugen..../shrug

absolutly love my HT. First thing I bought for the car, and it only took me about a month to get it.
Look on S2ki.com, a lot of people sell them cheap there. Some with and some without hardware included. I persoanlly got mine from this girl on there that sold her S and the buyer didn't want the top. Got it for 2 g's for everything. It's in EXCELLENT condition too. Once I waxed it up real good, looked like new.

nope, never said that i was mr moneybags. if i was, i'd still have my supra and my m3. and the reason i could afford those cars is because i saved my money and didnt do dumb **** like spend thousands of dollars on a piece of fiberglass to covoer the head of an s2k.

now if it were a carbon top that was top notch quality like a benen top or something, then that wouldn't even be worth the 2500$ asking price. there is nothing about it to justify that cost. it is a big piece of fiberglass or whatever. it doesnt move, has no electronics or anything complicated about it. it has a few metal latches that you must latch yourself.......so why is the damn thing so expensive???

Actually it's aircraft aluminum, has a rear defroster (electronics) and is wind tunnel tested....but putting all that aside.....if it'll save your 1100/ea seats from getting ripped out....what kinda price would you like to see on it?...=P

ok, well thats a little better. i figured it was a fiberglass deal or some kind of composite. aluminum is nice, but you must be super careful with that stuff cuz it is a very soft metal (almost dropped my supra targa top one day - and on that same day, a friend of mine with a supra didn't latch his targa down good enough and it flew off on the highway, talk about a mangled piece of ****!) its also a nice deal that is is wind-tunnel tested, and not just some hunk of junk you stick on the car.

the main reason i want to get one is for security. the car will be in my garage for 90% of its life, but i just dont wanna ever face the day when i walk out to it after leaving it sit somewhere, and see my seats and airbags gone. plus i'll more than likely be getting an 00' or 01' s2k, so im not crazy about the plastic rear window either. how hard is it to change out the plastic window once it gets bad?

what would i like to see it cost? i'd like to see it somewhere around the 1000-1500$ range. even with the small amount of electronics and r&d it has in it, it still should not cost a penny over $1500.
