Default Aftermarket HID on JDM conversion questions.

What light bulb does JDM headlights use? Is it the H4 that is equivalent to the 9006 like the USDM bulb? WHat's the difference betwen H4 and 9006?

Low beams: 9006
High beams: H1 55w
Fogs: H3 55w

H4 is a dual filament bulb. High and low beams in one bulb.

Here's also another thread I found: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=78973

---------------------------------------------------------
headlight is a 9006 like US
high beam is a H1 55w or H3 55w
fog is a H3 55w or H1 55w
---------------------------------------------------------

According to Mike's post above, low beam (9006) is the same as usdm so the plug should be the same. This means anyone with usdm Philip HID conversion can reuse their kit if they go jdm front correct? (I'm directing Mike to this thread for further verification).

What does Mike mean when he said H3 or H1 for the high beam and fog? Is he not sure or they come in different setup depending the model year conversion you are getting??

Ok here's a better answer to your question since I must have been out of it that day when I wrote that old post.
JDM headlights (97-below without OEM HIDs)
headlight-9006 51w
highbeam-H1 55w
fog light-H3 55w
city light- 168 5w (small wedge bulb)
As for aftermarket HID kits, yes a kit that you have for a US front will work. I had a Philips style kit on my R when I had the US front. I then did a JDM conversion and just put that same exact Philips kit on my JDM front. I then bought JDM OEM HID's and sold my Philips kit. But yeah both US and JDM fronts (97-below, non-HID headlights) use 9006 style bulbs.
