runs hella better after work....WTF
i have a dx (D15B7) get in it in the morning and drive to work, it's about 75 to 80 degrees outside when i leave......now on the really hot days (90 to 100degrees) my car sits out in the airport parking untill i leave work around 4 in the afternoon....now when i do leave there is a noticeably better diff in power
...it only lasts for about 20 minutes, then back to the old fawking d15
....is there something wrong with my car, anything i need to check and/or anything i can do to get that all the time!!!

i mean the accel is way better, the cluch feels real smooth, everything is better for that 20min after its been sitting in the hot sun for a long time
ya maybe but like i said about 20min down the road it runs like i just jumped in it in the morning????
you think maybe i need to replace some of the other flueds other then oil (never miss an oil change), or a better brand

haha....mine does the same thing.....i just thought it up to be..as long as you have stock intake...you are sucking air from the engine bay which is probably cooler than outside air because its never being touched by direct sun. Then your engine bay warms up with the motor and than you get warm air sucked into the engine....just a guess but w/e

i've experience the same thing with my 96 civic coupe d16y8. when i'm out and leave it parked in the sun. i notice it drives better and smoother when it's been in the heat for a while. the rpm in my car usually goes up slowly like it's losing power. but sometimes when it's in the heat. the rpm goes up smoothly and quicker. i just have dc headers, dc dac intake. rebuilt d16y8 motor. msd blaster n coil. i think my car usually drive crappy due to my sensors...but since it's been in the sun. maybe it does something to the sensors? i don't know. but i've had this happen before. oh yeah, my car is black too.
i think that i'll just have to start putting my car under some heat lamps while packing it overnight at home, that way when i jump in it in the morning i can lay some tire at every stop sign for that nice 20min
i don't know, but maybe it has something to do with the thermostate has something to do with it.....don't know, anyone else have this happen to there car????
could be your clutch? because, seeing in the morning sometimes, your clutch is cold and weak, but when its the right temp (after you get off work hot hot but not really hot) it runs good for the 20 min until it really heats up and slips worse and worse. how does your clutch feel in the morning? slipping?
the heat makes all the fluids thinner and makes them flow smoother but then it cycles through the thinned liquid and goes back to the thicker stuff at the bottom of the resivour , it could do this all the time .. i suggest draining ur coolent and putting in 50/50 premix ... and puttin in sa5w 30 or thinner oil
my car does this as well, sometimes it will feeel sooo slow, then other times it will be kickin it, d15b7
thing is mine doesnt matter, hot cold, warm, wet, dry, muddy...ok enough of that
you said something about coolant, you think flushing coolant would be a good idea for this.
and while im at it, what does average coolant flushing cost, im not much of a DIY yet cause i dont know enough yet

i have the exact oposite problem, my car doesnt seem to want to start in the heat but it will start fine n the cold. its a d15b7 also. i am thinking mybe its my fuel pump but i have no idea. i also need a rotor cap. doesnt really matter cause in a few months the motors is going on a stand in room for a b16a
