Default 28" slick fitting ...looking for some advice on how to fab behind the tire?

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of custom work that was done to the wheel wells on any FWD cars. We are currently running 26's but 28 are on the way. We have almost no clearance now behind the tire now so I know that we are going to need to modify there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Most of your problem is the door hinge area and firewall. The cutting required above the tire is pretty straight forward. A sawzall will do the job if your careful. I think we took about 2in out of the hinge and about 4in on the firewall. Then get a sheet of 20 thou steel. I think thats whats legal for making wheel tubs. You should be able to reform you new larger wheel well in 2-3 pieces. If you do a nice job cutting the rest will follow. Don't go crazy NHRA will only allow so much. Good luck
If you click on hotrod car in my sig you can get a little look at what we did. I know it looks close but my tire doesn't rub
Better yet I just found pics of my car in the welding/fab page. The post title is refabricating wheel wells. Check it out
