yes i have searched and found nothing....

im about to paint my 96 gsr starfishes...

ive stripped the paint off of them and stuff but the stock primer still remains on the wheel... now ive been wire wheeling the SOBs forever to only almost be done with one rim.....

heres the question

is it absolutly necessary to remove alll the primer before i spray the new primer on it?

 

No, but you need to make sure it is feather with the metal (feather: flat so you can't feel the edge)

Are you doing it with the tires on of off. If on please tape the side realy good.

why ruin a good set of baldes. or starfishes in your case. havnt herad that one before

just leave the aircraft stripper on there for a long time.

i had to use a brush to scrape off the leftovers too. the oem stuff doesnt come off easy.

when you paint them, just remember to do realllllllllly light coats. it will save you the hassle of drips and uneven paint.

 

u dont need to strip it all the way to metal, but it would be cleaner if you did.

just make sure everything stripped evenly...hopefully your not painting them bronze, black, red, white.

but yeah.

 

black with a red lip..... the lips are painted but probably gonna let them dry all day and paint the black later tonight

yea ill post pics after... im almost about half way through.. i painted the lips now im just sanding the edges down so i can paint over with black.. then i gotta clear them... so in a few days ill post pics
