boosted, now brakes feel weird?
After i finished installing my turbo system on my gsr crx, I noticed that the brakes at times depress way too much sometimes, and i need to keep pressing on them to get the brakes to hold the car. Other times, however, the brakes are totally stiff. I was looking through the archives and i saw that some people with vacuum issues had a similar problem with brakes.
I'm not losing brake fluid, and most tests that I run seem to indicate that my brakes are fine. Is it more likely that my master cylinder is messed up or that there is something about my setup that could make my brakes feel different?

Hmm.
It sounds that your master cylinder booster valve dont work. Or its glogged or something. In hondas they are suppose to be 2 way (underpressure, and with pressure)
Check the hose from intake manifold at start.

sounds like you're having brake issues because the vacuum isn't being regulated correctly. What Turbo set up do you have? I heard some people have had to install a small tank to hold reserve air. Kind of like the old V8 hot rodders who had big lumpy cams and had to pump their brakes to make them work
If you T'ed into the brake booster line on the wrong side of the check valve it would do this.
If you are using the brake booster line as a vacuum source, make sure you tap it between the intake mani and the check valve.

My turbo setup is standard... Blow off valve, manifold pressure gauge, and WG are T'd off of one of the vacuum lines by the IM. I didnt think those would be a big problem... My idle is generally fine, don't seem to have serious vacuum issues there or anything. one thing i did notice is that when i take off the vacuum hose going into the BOV and put a stopper on it, there's much less of a vac reading on my gauge. any idea why this would happen? could it be related?

In volvos, they have own pump to make vacuum.

Check your check valve.. Maybe it's backwards? Heck, add a second check valve.. It may help. Your car should make vaccume off boost. I only have problems if I pump the brakes while trail-braking. I doubt your MC or booster died during the turbo install. It's most likley vaccume related.
