High Compression And Stock Starter?
Experiences? Will be running 12+:1 compression and the only thing I didn't replace on the motor during the build was the starter... It's the original starter that came with the swap, and worked 100% when we pulled the motor...
Just wondering how things are going to work with bigger pistons and higher compression...
Also, stupid question, maybe, but will the starter crank without the ECU hooked up?

I'll be at the high end of 12:1, and my logic says that it'll be harder to turn that sucker over... Just a thought, though....

I'm just over 12:1 and had to replace 2 starters. Both were old and worn so I rebuilt the 2nd and it's been fine. I doubt the high compression had anything to do with it.

I have 12.5:1 compressions, daily driven, been doing it for 7 months, and I have had no problems with my starter. I purchased my starter brand new from Honda also, once the motor went in.
