Suspension Advice Wanted!!! TIA
I am looking into possibly upgrading the suspension on my ITR. I currently have Tein HAs with the factory spring rates of 8k front/6k rear. The two options that I am currently looking at are;
A. Get the Teins rebuilt and revalved for higher spring rates and order the new springs. Total cost around 650.
B. Sell the Teins and buy a set of GC Race coil-overs with SPSS koni yellows which will come in the spring rates I want with the correct valving. Cost around 1300 minus the selling price of the Teins.
The car is rarely driven on the street and to and from events. The car will eventually be trailered to all non-local events.
I am looking for any useful insight that could help me make this decision. I would also entertain any other options but at this point I like these two choices. Thanks.

From the research that I have done it doesn't appear to me that I would gain anything by switching to the koni/gc setup. The only bad thing that I have heard about the Teins are that they are expensive which isn't a problem now sense I already have them and the fact that originally there was no one in the US that could rebuild them and now Tein USA will take care of that.
Can anyone tell me that the koni/ground control combo will perform better than the Teins?

Well I am not completely set or I wouldnt have wasted everyones time in making this post.
I am just curious if any one has reason to believe that the koni/gc combo would have an advantage over the Teins large enough to make it worth switching.

It is unclear what you use the car for - autox, roadrace(hpde) or drag. Can't make a recommendation without that info.
But assuming you are going to be autoxing - The problem with the Teins is that the spring rates are wrong. You need to get the car rotating by having higher rates in the rear than the front. You might want look at 400 lbs/in front and 600 lbs/in rear. And if you go with those rates then you want to make sure your shocks will handle them. The SPSS valved Konis will.
My understanding is that the Konis (esp SPSS valved) are going to give you a rougher ride but much better control than the Teins. Also the GC sleeves are pretty slick and a great value for the $.
But really the Teins are perfectly ok for the occasional track day and their front-biased spring rates will make the car more stable at higher speeds. Stable is safe but not necessarily fast.
Do what makes you happy. There is no ONE right answer.

alan

My mistake I do infact use it primarily for autocross with an occasional track day.

This is the reason that I stated I would be getting the Teins revalved and higher spring rates.

This interests me though, why would the Koni give me better control?
