My speedo recently went out and my cel is on. Does anybody have a picture they can post to show me where it is and how it looks like? I know its somewhere near the tranny but someone please tell me exactly where it is and how it looks like. Thanks!

Then it's the cable. Or it could have came loose on the tranny, or the back of the cluster. Look at the top of the tranny near the firewall, you should be able to see the cable. I can get some pics tomorrow if need be. Just let me know.

I'm not going to lie to you, routing that cable is a total pain in the ***, and getting it to snap into the tranny too.

Ok, you're gonna want to start by taking out the gauge cluster. There are four screws, and you'll have to disconnect the rear defroster, hazard, dimmer, and any other switches you may have on your cluster hood. Once that is off, you'll have four more screws, three harness plugs, and the speedo cable to unhook to actually remove the cluster. This is detailed in the workshop book, which I have available in .pdf format at http://users.adelphia.net/~h8t...l.pdf Please right click and save target as, so as to not kill my bandwidth.
Next, you'll want to go under the hood, and unclip the cable from the side of the rear transmission mount, feel around for the wire clip, and take that off. Then pull the boot up, and there should be a plastic clip built on to the end of the cable that holds it into the transmission. Then you'll want to pull the boot from the firewall. You're going to have to pull the cable out from under the hood. Try not to damage the boots, because I do not know if the new cable will come with them. Be patient, take breaks if you start getting pissed, because like I said this is indeed a pain in the ***. Here are the pictures I took for you, hope they help, and if you need any more help, just shoot a line on here.

Yes, it would. You see, the Vss for cable speedos is in the speedo itself. Which in turn sends it's data to the ecu. However he should check just to be 100% sure, and to do that, first make sure the cable is snug into the tranny, and then pull the cluster out and take a short drive, watching to see if the part of the cable that goes into the speedo spins at all. If not, it's the cable, if it does, it's your speedo. I had the same thing happen to me, and 99.9% of the time the cable will go before the actual Vss in the Speedo. Hence my suggesting that it is in fact the cable.

And help yourself to the PDF man, I also have the Vtec supplement too. Not on my server, but I can put it up if you want it.

I guess I can see why. It's there for you either way. All it is is a link on HT, my server, my manual. So the owners of this site can't be held responsible. There's about 100 other sites that have it as well, so it's whatever.
