Over by the passenger side axle there should be 2 plugs in the tranny, the fill plug on top and the drain plug below. Loosen the FILL plug first (so you don't drain all the fluid then realize it'll be a PITA to fill the tranny elsewhere), then drain all the fluid. Replace the drain plug, then fill through the fill hole until fluid spills out (assuming you're on a level surface). It should take 1.9 or 2 quarts if I remember correctly.
And I wouldn't skimp on tranny fluid. Go get some Honda Manual Transmission Fluid from the dealership.

Make sure you can get the filler plug loose before you drain it..
Use a six-point socket or wrench as it strips easily..
Remove the drain plug witha 3/8" ratchet/extension

After you drain it,replace the drain plug and fill it
until it runs out the filler plug replace plug and you're done..
{Holds right at 2 quarts..}

You can also fill it through the speedo drive or reverse switch
or there is a removable plug under the starter.

True but if you have a funnel with a tube so you can fill it from the engine bay and just snake the tube in the hole.....it's a lot easier than pulling the VSS or any of that other stuff.

The funnel/tube combo is CHEEP and also useful for lots of other crap. See AutoZone.

I just use the filler hole and a short piece of 3/8" hose with a small
funnel inserted in the hose ran up into the engine compartment..

The speed sensor can be a pain to remove also..See:

Really? Do you see the big picture above that says
"filler plug" in big red letters? Well that is what I use...

Now see where it says:
The speed sensor can be a pain to remove also..See:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1315336

If you click that link,It discusses the removal of the sensor..

I'm pretty sure the speedometer mounts inside the dash.

At the transmission, pull the inside completely out of the housing:

The entire inner cable should be 34 3/4" long..
If not,it is broken..
If the cable is in one piece,Grease it up and stick it back in the housing:

The green line should be inserted all the way to where the slot is:

It is then held in place with the clip which is usually found inside the rubber cover:

You may have to turn the cable until it lines up with the drive in the sensor...

that speedo cable is definately a pain to get in right. it takes a lot of fiddling to really get it right. if the speedo isnt working, you probably dont have the cable engaged properly.

those pics are great

I just put new fluid in my brothers B18C and it was really easy. Just go with the first way to do it on the forum.
I bought a little pump from Pep Boys, I think $7. It worked great, screwed right onto the top of the oil quart. Just stick the tube in the filler plug and pump away. Whole process took about 10 mintues. Really easy. My first time doing it too. Good luck

All this talk of speed sensors is confusing. To set things straight, these pictures aren't showing a sensor, they are showing the "speedometer driven gear assembly". 91 and older CRX models have the speed sensor incorporated into the speedometer. 92-95 models have a speed sensor in the transmission and don't have a speedometer drive cable at all. I'm not 100% on which years have what, but I can verify that the 89 doesn't have the speed sensor in the transmission since that is what I own.

That is true Ryan.. and Welcome to the community..

Here is the actual gismo in the speedometer
that is considered the "speed sensor.."
