Skunk2 Proseries & Omnipower Coilovers
So I was looking into a set of Skunk2 Proseries Coilovers, when I came across some posts about how they were made by the same people that made Omnipower Coilovers.
Now, i'm not sure if most of you heard, but the Omnipower had some bunk made sets with thin/weak collars. So i'm wondering if this is true, then wouldn't maybe some of the Skunk2 Proseries be faulty made just like the Omnipower Coilovers?
Reason i'm asking is because I will be buying a set, and don't want to end up with one of the weak sets at the track.

YIKES!!....skunk2 coilovers are NOT the same as omnipowers....
skunk2 pro-s coilovers are a basic entry level street coilover. the coilovers feature a one-piece design made of STEEL.
also, the pro-s series uses a dual-tube shock design. we chose this design because it tends to be more durable and lower maintenance than monotube shocks; making it more appropriate for performance-street applications. (as a point of reference koni yellows, kyb agx, mugen n1, showa, tein flex, etc.. all choose a dual-tube design for its improved reliability over monotube shocks)
we would appreciate the help of HT members in setting the record straight if they ever come across people claiming the products are the same.
thank you!!

from wat i have heard skunk2 will be coming out wit them later on not anytime soon. and as far as the coilovers themselves we are using them actually with drag launch springs on our SFWD cars with no problem
.
i have sold like 10 of the pro series coilovers and no complaints from anyone at all. as far as omni's i have talked to a few people who said the valves leaked b4 a year of wear and tear street/strip use.

they offer them now for eg/ek anddc applications.

Skunk2 proseries coils are not the same as the Omni coilovers.
I have the Proseries along with a comptech 22mm sway setup. Its really stiff for my tastes and I've gone 110mph on a curvy mountain freeway (yes it was dangerous and do not attempt!)
The car was very solid.
Robearracing.com has the cheapest sets!

I'm talking about Pillowmounts for the pro-series 92-00 civic application. Not the actual coilovers. I have those but havent installed them because of the many stock parts required to assemble them. Parts I have long discarded and i think most people with full coilovers have. Now I either have to find someone selling their stock parts or go to the dealer and end up paying for crappy parts I dont want to buy. If skunk2 is challenging omni for suspension supremacy they should look into releasing a complete application, not just a spring & threaded body shock combo. If you figure that the price difference between omni's and skunk2's are roughly $50 and people are arguing equally for both sides, then the average consumer is going to opt for the full system, not the half-oem half-aftermarket system. Now, if Skunk2 makes a pillowball mount, bumpstops and dust sleeves for their civic application, I'll shut my mouth and eat crow. Pics and prices please.

Just got off the phone with SKUNK2.
No Uppermounts are avilable yet for any Pro-Series Coil-overs.
This was straight from our rep who has been there for years.
The moment they are available we will post them up.
