The ol ITR is down again =( (another "what wrong with it" thread)
Well, After driving the R all day today, I finally made my mission back home.
About 10 miles from home, I stop to pay the toll..and right when I take off..I decide to feel the joy/love of the R motor by bringin her into Vtec curve.
Right at Vtec engagement, the starts to bog dramatically ..
Right at this point, I immediately merged over to the right side of the road..
and at first, it "barely" idled for second or two..and then shut off.
Upon, trying to start it again..it would crank over fine..and sometimes run..but really bogg not even getting the Rpms to even 1k..gave the sound of car running on 1 cylinder
Anyhow, stranded without any tools, I was forced to get towed home (waited 2 friggin hours for a damn tow truck)
Upon getting her home, I did the basics (considering it was dark outside)..
Checked Spark and Fuel..
The R is getting perfect fuel.
Then I took two of the spark plug wires, and put them close to some metal and cranked it over. Got <U>no</U> spark jumping from any of the wires
My question is,
The R has 83,000 miles, have any of you had this similar problem with the distributer taking a dump on you?
I would have though, if the distributer went out..then it wouldnt allow any type of running from the motor?
Let me get your feedback, on what you think it is..or any similar experiences you have had like this.
Thanks for any help or inspiration..before I disect the R motor this weekend.
Til then, I have to drive the wifeys Armada to work .. WOOT WOOT

pull the distributor cap off and see if the rotor has magically exploded off the shaft.
you should check with the sparkplug plugged into the boot and try to ground it against some metal.
"fuknfast" posted up a topic a long while back about this issue if I recall correctly.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Thanks for the quick reply RagingAngel, I however already put a screwdriver in the plug..as well as put the plug wire real close to the valve cover stud ..and from two plugs..I had know spark jumping from it
btw, I didnt find any user "fuknfast"

he must have changed his username....
I think it was 2fcknfast or something to that effect, I've tried a varying number of combinations with no luck....does anybody remember who I am talking about?
search pwnderated me....

I have something very similar, Bog like it wants to die, stalls, etc. turns out mine is somewhere at the ecu. haven't pinpointed it yet, but when a good bang to the ecu area my engine bogs really badly another bang then its great.

My buddy's 94 integra had the same problem... couldn't figure why it wasn't getting spark. It got dark and we spotted the a spark at the distributor cap. It was cracked and the spark was taking a short cut to ground and not going through the cap. Replaced cap and rotor and it was good to go.
my guess is the coil.
remove the coil from the dizzy. connect a wire to the positive coil terminal directly to the positive battery terminal
connect a wire to the negative coil terminal.
position the coil high voltage terminal near (not touching) a ground.
hold the negative coil wire to the battery negative terminal, then release.
if a spark jumps from the high voltage terminal to ground, the coil is good. if you get a spark right at the negative wire, the coil is bad
