Alright, here's the deal. I'm contemplating on if I should buy an EG or EK (hatches) for my daily driver and weekend track car. I'll have about $7k after selling my current daily driver, and would like to dump all of it over to the Civic. My initial plan is a B16 with JR charger right off the bat - I figure this would be a great daily driving set up, along with an awesome set up for road racing.

My question to all of you, is what would you go with? I'm not looking for an insane track car, I just want it to be fun and be a good daily driver - do you think its possible to do with $7k? I figure used B16's go for what, $1k now? And a used charger for $1500? So that leaves me with about $5k for the car itself. I'm leaning towards the EK, just because I like that styling a little bit more, and when/if I do decide to do cosmetics, the CTR route is always nice

 

I would suggest a nice suspention set up with some of the leftover money. Perhaps some adjustable coilovers so you can set for track use or daily driving use. Sway bars and maybe strut tower bars as well.

As for style you mentioned the CTR so a nice CTR lip kit would be nice and whatever else you want.

I would do the suspention (and other performance stuff you metioned) before any cosmetic item.

WOW thats like your present ,,i would get a stock car,engine,susp,looks meanwhile after i would dyno n then upgrade everything because u dont want a bad *** car of the bat cause it might get ruined quick...GOOOD luck

So do you think it's financially possible to buy either an EG or EK, swap in the B16 with the charger with a basic suspension set up? I haven't looked all too much for the car, but I've seen a few EK's for 4.5-5k -- although most are salvaged titles from theft, I'd rather have a clean title
