im doing a valve adjustment this weekend. i have a snap-on tool and a feeler gauge. the adjustment under hood say in-.17mm +-2 and ex- .19mm +-2. my feeler gauge doesnt have those specs. the only thing close is .152mm and .203mm.<-- will those ok. heres a pic of what i have. any advise would be nice. do i need to get a new feeler gauge? i just bought this one-

I've never seen metric feeler gauges. Just use the inch specs and you should be fine, unless your set is missing the ones you need...

 

what are the inch specs?

 

combine two of the feelers together...it looks like you have a .102 and a .076. added together those are .178 which would work fine for the intake side. then maybe the .127 and and the .076 for the exhaust side...i cant really see all of your feeler gauges but it seems like you have enough gauges to give a good valve adjustment. also thats why the holder unscrews, so you can take some of the feelers off and combine them next to the one you need. plus youre probably broke from buying the snap on adjustment tool to buy a new feeler gauge.

I think they would..i just wanto make sure

 

Get a new feeler gauge. Plus longer ones with the angle at the end work better on DOHC head. You'll get quick and good with them

Everyone makes them, Craftsmen, Mac, Snap On, Bob the Builder, Tyco, etc. They're just easier to use and if you're gonna buy a new set with different sizes (as some have suggested), might as well get the best/easiest.
