Throwing Codes....
Ok I drive a 99 Honda Civic DX Hatchback (D16Y7), and just recently installed the following....
- Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket -
- Skunk 2 Intake Manifold -
- Honda Civic Type R Throttle Body -
- Generic Temporary Intake -
Now the car runs with the OE ECU, which apparently it shouldn't so well. However it throws 3 different codes. 2 of which are the primary, and secondary o2 sensors, and the obvious other one. We did change it from the 3 pronged sensor, to the 2 pronged censor.
Now in doing this I was going to run an OBD2B to OBD1 Harness as well as an OBD1 ECU to eliminate the secondary o2 sensor, and the other code. However in doing this, it just adds to the problems. It then throws a totally different code, the crank shaft sensor? Plus the other primary, and secondary o2 sensors.
Any idea on how to fix this issue?

Try removing your ecu fuse for a minute or so and then plug it back in and see if you get any codes.
So you just plugged in a obd1 ecu with no program and you expect no codes? (not understanding)

So you're trying to use a 2-wire IACV with the D16Y7 ECU? If yes, stop. That is why you have the code. That ECU won't control a 2-wire IACV. Since you've mentioned that you don't have the primary or secondary O2's hooked up, that shouldn't be a surprise about their code popping up.
But I don't understand this:

So, you plugged up an OBD1 ECU and got a CEL for the secondary O2 sensor and the CKF sensor (crank fluctuation)? Well, that wasn't an OBD1 ECU then.

Yes, I am trying to use a 2 wire, instead of the 3 wire. And I know with using the OE ECU that this is the 3rd code being thrown. However at this time, it's the only ECU running the vehicle properly.
I will have to recheck the wiring for the primary/secondary o2 sensors, as they are hooked up, but maybe some how they got reversed when installing the header, and exhaust setup.
We went through about 5 different ECUs using the OBD2b to OBD1 jumper. The guy assisting me with the ECUs is very knowledgable with Hondas, etc. Works with them for a buisness. And he too couldn't figure out, or understand what the hell is going on. lol As I mentioned each ECU through off different codes, about 3 of which were the same.
