Do you hear the fuel pump prime everytime you turn the key to the on postition? Could be your main relay

It isn't your "Main" relay. Its a relay for ur fuel pump only. Its located under ur dash where ur fuses are. From there you look to ur left where theres a hanging piece of plastic from "the change box" that hangs down. Behind that plastic right above ur latch for ur hood is the relay. Its pretty big. This is a problem on all older models of hondas. Due to high temperatures it cause the soldiering to be flaky. Hope that helps! PM if anything. I had the same exact problem.

thanks for the info...... Is the main relay under the dash by the hood latch handle? I'm going to get this car back from my mechanic tomorrow. He can't look at it for about 10 days because he was burned real bad from a overheated car in the shop. I'm going to check this out tomorrow Thanks again.Tom

there is also a check ball in the pump that keeps pressure from leaking back to the tank when the car is off. when they go bad it takes a few key clicks (no starter cranking, just powering the pump) for the car to start. sometimes i can actually hear the fuel running up the lines by my rocker panel. i have also had to pull the 12mm bolt on the fuel filter to get it primed in the past.
