hey i have a 99 civic with a jackson racing supercharger in it, hedder intake exhuast, and a JET performance chip, well it has been perfect since i had it done, but today when i turned my car on the belts were squeaking really lound but it stopped after a few seconds, when i turned the car off it made this really lound grinding noise......i turned it back on and now it sounds like **** and dosent really make the same nosie when i turn it off. any advice???? thanks

 

Have you had belts recently? You might have a belt going out. I'd check that first.

 

no i just put the supercharger in it, and the car has close to 70,000 miles on it, another person said it mightbe a bearing

 

have you checked the tension on the sc's belt? if its too tight it could damage the supercharger's bearing.

 

my cars in my buddys shop now where i had the SC installed....he said he thinks its the supercharger but hes not sure because it makes the noise on and off.....i have a year war on the sc so well c.... any other sugestions?

 

well it turned out to be a lose belt, thank god because jackson racing wanted us to unistall the SC and send it to them to be fixed, they werent going to pay for any of the labor...which would have cost 500Q$ unistall and 500$ to reinstall. However i got my car back and today it is doing the same thing again... is this still a belt?

 

i highly recomend buying a toolset, and at least a shop/helms manual for your car. it will save you alot in the long run, and you will gain knowledge as well. unless your a baller like that.
