Default My new project, non-honda

I've been wanting one of these as a project for a while now. Picked this 90 325is up for $1500. It's the sport model so it has better seats, an on board computer, and lsd. Gonna drive it for a semester to get a feel for it then completely tear it down and rebuild it. Considering an engine swap or turbo the stock engine.

Anyways here's the pics:

Full sized spare.

My previous project (now daily driver):

Lots of people swap in the m50 or s50 and their variations. The m50 is out of the e36 325 and 328's I believe and has 190 hp. The s50 is out of the e36 m3 and has 240 hp. The car's stock m20 engine has around 160. I've been told expect to pay $2000 for an m50 and $4000 for a s50.

As far as turboing the m20, from what I have read all you really need to do is replace the head bolts with something stronger and its good for 250-300 hp with good management.

I like the s50 swap because I drove my friend's 95 m3 and it is just an amazing feeling engine. Real smooth and feels like it could pull forever. Supposedly it also gets 35 mpg in these lighter bodies.

That sounds great. I never knew about BMW swaps, learn something new every day on here. Good luck with the project!
