cold engine only, don't tighten them with it hot, the threads are easy to damage. Remember put it in by hand first to be sure you don't cross thread.

Make sure you also put a little anti-seize compound on the plug threads before you install them..only a little, but it makes the next change much easier.

i agree with all the guys to start by hand. put antiseize on threads for easy removal but u dont have to torque plugs ,,,,,,just get a 3/8 rachet and extension and tighten then when they bottom down go a little snugger i have done it like this for many many years never had a problem removing them many miles later and no need to by a torque wrench

yea after using a tourque wrench i learned that its just enough to snug em up with a rachet anyways... so you dont really need one. but i used one for the first time, and i forgot to use anti seize, and my engine was a lil warm, i might take em back out and some antiseize, like you said to make them easier the next time, thanks for all the comments guys... i work on cars as much as i can, but i aint no pro haha, i changed my wiper motor the other day, that wasnt too bad... along with my window motor on the driver side, and they both came out alright :-D
