Default Do I really need Koni Race shocks??

I am planning to run Koni+GC's with 500 lb srpings up front and 800 lbs. in the rear. Due to the high spring rates, are the Koni race really necessary. I mean, could I run the koni sports with these rates? Woould the sports dampen properly? Or will these springs blow out the sports meaning I would have to get them re-valved in the long run anyways?

Really depends on what you are doing w/ the car. For drag racing, I would just use the heavy rates for the track and something softer for the streets. Then you could probably get away with just running the standard OTS yellows. Lee will probably chime in on this subject.

800 lbs will probably blow the OTS yellows out of the water.

the 500's are fine. maybe cheaper to just get the 2 rear shocks revalved, if you're going to stay within 500-600 lbs or less in the front.

how do u think a set-up like that would handle on an h22-2 in an ek?.. i have jic's and they squat really bad when launching and seem to have lost their stature in turns.. im kinda looking for a compromise of the two drag, decent road handling ...

Yes, that is way over the limit for out of the box Koni Yellows.

I blew my SPSS Konis with 750 in the rear.

Maybe I just bounce off too many gaters.

Its as hard as picking your nose.

My Truechoice Phase-4's are valved for 1000# springs according to the previous owner (H1 team).

Is there any where one can look and see what koni applications are avaliable for your car and what spring rates they can safely handle?
