the only way a dealership would void your warantee is if the product itself is causing the damage to whatever you face or has caused damage, and dont be stupid and go all out mugen on ur car

you only need your warrenty if it breaks. I believe in the case of cosmetics, your fine. Oil cap, fine unless it is the cause for the damage (unlikely).

If its performance, most dealerships will support Comptech parts which is nice.

if your ever gonna bring the car in under warranty work, put everything back to stock.

story: rsx-s with aftermarket sway bars/struts/a-spec suspension brings car to Acura because the srs light was on and 'vtec' didnt engage. dealer says the rear sway bar caused it...

too much hassle. but there is a moss warranty act that saves you. http://www.granatellimotorspor...s.htm

Hey my bad man. I was just trying to help. No need to flame my *** yo. But yeah, Mugen is tight, for sure. But their **** is pretty pricey. No need to get all pissed off. I come in peace man. I aint trying to get my **** (percentage) all fucked up cuz I'm a trial user still. I'm from Club RSX.

By the way, I saw your post on the T1R and Type One. I didn't know there was a Type One company in Japan. So yeah that's my mistake (sorta). And yes, I knew that T1R was from AJR. I just said type one because I didn't want to say T1R. I should've just finished it and said Type One Racing. I couldn't post afterwards because I'm a trial user and that wouldn't let me post. But if I did, right after the moment I noticed you got pissed off, I would've clarified. With me being unable to post, members be hating hardcore. All I said was one comment. My bad yo. Aite, well that's 1 post for the day. 4 more to go. See you in the boards..

I went to the dealership and asked about your mugen oilcap and intake. in fact there was an 02 rsx type s with an injen sri for sale (certified used). they said that intakes are all right and especially if you buy it through them and have them install it into your car. they offer turbos and superchargers all warrantied for a certain price.

http://www.acuraoflynnwood.com

ask minh dang any questions regarding warranties. that guy is a pimp and im buying my o6 type s through him.

the Magnusson Moss Act will (hopetully) save you if a dealership tries to claim a part you installed voided the warranty. what the act states is that a dealer must PROVE that the installed part was the cause of damage to the car.

I am an Acura Technician and I experience this stuff all of the time. I have done warranty work on cars with JDM valve covers, interiors ugly body kits, aftermarket alarms etc. You can add cosmetic parts AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT EFFECT THE PERFORMANCE. Intakes are ok, unless they do not have a filter (seen it) and if they are of the one piece design that goes into the fender/bumper expect to pay an hour or so of labor for having to fight with it on a repair. Aftermarket HID systems will void electrical system warranties and if you even tough a SRS wire the SRS system is void. I have seen people using the SRS power source for their interior neons and set off a SRS light and/or destroy the SRS control module and the warranty be null and void. If you remove the Catalytic converter you have just voided your powertrain warranty and if your engine blows up with only 1000 miles on it you are SOL.

f you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.

Our AC compressor has been whining for months, it squeels kinda like a belt. I've brought it in 5 times & now Acura is saying that I have to take off theh CAI before they will look at it any more. I even escalated to the regional service guy, and he was even less helpful & courteous.

They are saying that b/c the CAI makes more noise than the stock airbox, they cannot hear the squeel. That's BS b/c I talked to 2 techs & they boh heard it, the service people just don't want to work on the car since it's "modefied". I'm pissed b/c they haven't cared about it previously & it's been on since early 03, but whatever.

So, the moral is, some dealerships/regions are cool. Some are cool, and then turn bad, some are bad. It's luck of the draw. Good Luck!

go to a different dealership. it's not that hard to put the stock airbox back on if u want it fixed.

No, but it shouldn't be necessary. An intake has nothing to do with an AC compressor, that's what I disagree with. It isn't hard to go back to stock, but it's BS that I have to.
