there is a shift shaft seal but ihave never seen it leak, have you done any parking brake burnouts? crack the case? look around for cracks in the case too.

ok lets bump this back up for me having same problem.

I just notices a leak today. Leaks out about a hamburger bun size over night on the ground. I don't think its comming from my oil. It looks like its comming right from the shift linkage where it meets the tranny. And i do have a quarter size hole on the bottem of my tranny right where the tranny meets the block. Is that where it may leak from? Which is it, linkage or hole and how do i fix both?

If you use the incorrect bolt(too long) when you put the leverage rod on the trans, it will cause a hairline crack which will leak very slow and look like its coming out around the bushing.

The right bolt is only about 2.5 inches long, take the rod off and look carefully for a slight crack, I did this on my trans and damn i was pissed, but its a very slow leak, now i constantly have to check the fluid though.

hope this helps ya.

It can be tig welded but the case has to be free and clean of oil and dirt, so it would more than likely have to come apart, if its not bad JB weld is worth a shot, id be more concerned with the hole, is there any fluid coming from there.

it crossed my mind that it may...but the hole has been there awhile...and its never leaked...until recently i'm noticing it. The hole looks clean in the picture, not like fluid been running out.
