d15b7 into a ed questions.
ok i just picked up this hatch and it has a non running d15b7 the wireing harness is all hacked up and its still on the obd0 ecu. my question is what harness should i use? im gonna convert it all to obd1. i still gotta get an obd1 ecu and dizzy right? im new to the pre 92 civics thanks.
Here is what you can do, change the driver's side mount bracket, now change the distributor to that of a D16A6, and walla, you have a MPFI D15B2 that is OBD-0.
ok the motor is allready in the car. the wire harness is all hacked up and looks like garbage. its a d15b7 not a d15b2. its a dx so isnt it dpfi? and i want to change it to obd1. right now its not getting fuel to all the cylinders so im thinking it was never converted to mpfi right?
Ok, let me explain this out
Ideas
1) The D15B2 and the D15B7 are the same motor, except for the camshaft in the head
2) Electronically though they are different
3) D15B7 - MPFI/OBD-1
4) D15B2 - DPFI/OBD-0
5) If you take your D15B7 and switch out your OBD-1 distributor for a OBD-0 distributor, you now have a modified D15B2.
6) If you use the D16A6 Distributor, you can have the D15B7 running MPFI no problem in OBD-0.
7) If you use the D15B2 Distributor, you can have the D15B7 running as a stock replacement in your DX, all DPFI parts intact.
8) If you retain the D15B7 Distributor, you have to convert the chassis/motor to MPFI, then to OBD-1 which will require the addition of an OBD-1 ECU.
