Default Which Turbo Kit is Best for EP3?

I am very confused on which turbo kit is the best for overall performance. I need a reliable set up, but a set up that will give me enough power to be happy. The only kits I know of are GReddy, Cybernation and RevHard. Does anyone know about any other kits? And if they do can you please leave me their web address or link. I really appreciate your time and trouble, thanx

Haha, you'll get no arguments from me. If I had an endless budget, I'd get the FR kit for my EP.

See if you can get this guy to recommend something. The economical sweet spot is probably just a small modern turbo that gives you 20 or 30 HP.

cybernation, hands down. greddy is nice, but you'll get the most power from the cybernation kit

Cybernation Kit all the way!

Get a K-Pro for an optimal complement.
You can buy just the kit w/out Guardian now. Or u could get an AEM....but u said your on a budget, so....hope this helps.

Wrong. You can get nearly same power levels from all 3 kits, it's just easiest to hit higher numbers with the CN kit, since it's the most "complete."

That is wrong.

A greddy kit will not make as much power as the others. Even with optimal tuning, the turbo that comes in that kit is limited. CN and Rev Hard use bigger turbos with greater max potential. A rev Hard kit comes complete, CN kit comes complete, as for the greddy, yes youll have to purchase bov and i/c seperately.

It really comes down to the size of the turbo in a comparison of whp potential.

yo! thanks everybody for helping out. I am a recovering NOS-aholic, and know that fronteir like home, but when it comes to boost I am a true noobie. I am pleased to say I copped the GReddy turbo kit-IC and know I am searching for this best blow off valve( maybe HKS SSBOV ). I chose GReddy because of their potential in their kit. RevHard has many many problems in their kits with the fuel injection and misfire. Cybernation is impossible to get an inspection sticker with, although guardian seems real dope. Fullrace turbos are WICKED nice! Maybe I might upgrade later to Fullrace when my wallet needs a diet. GReddy justs seems like a boost noobie friendly kit, the e manage looks difficult to tune but someone experienced will be doing that for me. GReddy is the most reliable of the three ( Some mods I have learned about on GReddy turbo forums must be made to the brake lines and moving the oil return line closer to the tranny side of the oil pan and keeping the stock oil plug in its location ). I am so excited to be boosted, I feel like running through a wall head first. Anyways, thanks everyone- I still would enjoy more feedback, and anything else I can do to make my GReddy a reliable success.

You're correct in theory, but not in practice. The turbo that comes with the Greddy kit is rated for limits of upwards of 15psi... a boost level no A3 should ever hit (Except one... but's another story for another day). Relative to the others, yes... the Greddy turbo has less potential, but unless you are planning to swap in an A2 and build the internals, it will more than hold its own against the other kits AND it will produce considerably more torque than either the RH or the CN kit.

Believe me, I wouldnt post based soley on theory and I hope I dont sound like a jerk in this post, not trying to be. I never seen a Greddy Kit that made more power than I even with a custom tune using Greddy's included turbo. Ive raced Rsx-s's with greddy kits, they too were not as fast. Those are my experiences. What are your experiences?

Since we already have established the Greddy has less potential being a smaller turbo, Id like to comment on your point about higher boost levels. Your right about stg1 applications, they should not hit in upwards of 10psi. However, that does not mean that the bigger turbo theory is not valid. My turbonetics t3/t4 vs greddy's supplied turbo flows more air into the cylinders, pound for pound, that is a fact.

Again, this does not matter if we are talking about 6psi or 9psi. Greddy also uses an internal wastegate, some argue in theory this hinders max potential. I have an external, in theory said to be better for max potential. How bout we start with comparing volumetric efficiency of both turbos? Should we lookup some air flow charts?

As far as more torque, sure...its obvioulsy gonna have more torque,..... down low that is. This is due to the fact that the turbo is smaller and spools up quicker. That doesnt mean anything if we are comparing higher hp numbers, or one being faster than the other. Wasnt this the argument?

If holding its own is keeping within approx a 2 car distantce behind a CN or RH kit, than yes, it holds its own. Pound for pound, the bigger turbo does mean better when talking about these 3 Ep3 turbokits. This is because the difference (in size) is great enough. If we compare 2 diff size turbos where the difference is less, then size might not matter. The tuning might be the determinant.

As far as these 3 kits for the ep3, the Greddy kit's included turbo (not the upgrade) will never produce more power or be as fast as a CN or RH kit, end of story.

Full Race is probably one of the best pieced together turbo kits available for K-series that Ive seen. Im judging this on the each component they have selected for their kit.
If one was trying to put together their own kit without sacrificing quality anywhere, you'd probably be following their footsteps.

Just add K-Pro, and tune it...Game over.
much props to the Full-Race guys, almost forgot cuz they are relatively new on the scene.
