ls in crx...... wont start??????????
i have a 90 crx and swapped in a LS motor and it wont fire up. it turns over but wont fire. We check the grounds and it doesn't seem to be getting a good ground but we cant find it, any info that can help would be great. if anyone has had issues with swaps please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i sand off all the paint where my grounds are connected too..u should try that so its metal on metal..and not metal on paint
also if ur using the old crx grounds..i suggest that u get some 4 gauge wire and make some new ones...cause the crx grounds are tiny..

bump for a friend who needs help, he tried the ground thing so that may not be the problem but it wont fire, it turns over though, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

for the grounds. I would try the ground in between the vavle cover and the radiator support, if it has it. My brothers crx wouldn't start and then we figured out we forgot to connect it, and it fired right up. Might work, Good Luck

if it turns over but wont fire...it might not be the ground..i would check to see if it has fuel and spark...check to see if u have the wires in the right order, if the dist. is still good...also see if u can hear the fuel pump prime
thanks for the help, yes it has compression, fuel, no ecu codes, distributer is new and gets power but wont spark through the wires to the plugs, and firing order is correct, he's checked all grounds and sanded them to make sure they get good contact, the car was runnung before the swap and now it wont so he doesn't think the ecu went out on him, any other help would be good if i can get it for him.

If you know anybody that has a good working distributor, try using it in your car and check if you get spark. If you dont then open up the distributor and make sure that none of the wires have been unplugged from where they are suppose to be and that everything is there. If this is okay, then my guess would be that even though the distributor is new, the ignition coil or the ignition module are messed up. Before you take them off, put the car on the on position, (key on, engine off) and check to see how many volts you have on the black/yellow wire that connects to the coil and also to the ignition module. It should be battery voltage. If this is okay, take the keys out of the ignition and check for resistance in the coil to make sure its good. Resistance should be between .03-.09 ohms between positive coil and negative coil. Then check the secondary windings. One of the multimeter leads goes to the coil tower and the other lead to the coil negative. Then one lead to the coil tower and the other lead to coil positive. You should get a reading between 9,440-14,160 ohms if its in good condition. If all this is good, then your problem is probably the ignition module.
