Suspension leans to the left
I did a search but I just get "lean fuel mixture".
Anyways, I've been trying to solve this problem for some time.
PROBLEM: 97 EX civic 4dr leans to the left (drivers side) at the front. Measuring from top of fender wheel well to ground, rear left and right are about the same, but the front left (driver) is about 1-2" shorter than the front right (passenger).
EXPLAINATION 1: The engine and heavy driver is on the left side. Yes, I know this, and yes this wears out the left side more. But on a new car, it does not sag like this. So the real question is, WHAT IS SAGGING?
EXPLAINATION 2: Suspension. I've already replaced the spring and strut with all new components (H&R and KYB). This did not help, the car still leans over. When putting on the suspension, the front right (passenger) side was significantly harder to line up the control arm to the bottom of the strut. I had to push much harder on the hub downwards so the bolt could be inserted.
EXPLAINATION 3: Tire pressure. This has been checked. They are within 0.5 psi of each other. I don't think this is it.
EXPLAINATION 4: Frame damage. Never got into a frontal collision or any massive chassis trauma. I don't think this is it.
EXPLAINATION 5: Old squished bushings in all of the suspension components. This is the only thing left I can think of. I'm considering replacing all the bushings, but it's such a time consuming job that I'm not sure if I want to do it.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
