Default possible causes of running rich please

i have a 88 civic dx....dpfi with full exhaust and blackish grey smoke comin out da exhaust and plugs are really black...how can i fix this...please list all possible cause of this

running rich

bad fuel injector
map sensor bad
vacum leak on map sensor hose
bad 02 sensor
bad fuel pressure reg

could be lots of things

If you all running extremely rich you should check voltage at the map sensor first. shoudnt be over 1 volt during idle

nah no codes at all it idles fine and all but one other prob i have is if its at like 750 rpm then i floor it to rev, it makes a pop and struggles a bit but after the pop it revs fine....help me out

do you think one of those in line fuel pressure regulators would help me out a bit....i kno they dont make em for dpfi but what abouth the inline ones...can i turn it down a bit

Are you sure it is running rich? Is it burning any oil or coolant? It sounds to me more like oil burning. How many miles on the engine?

nah its not burnin anything...it stoped smoking today i checked all fluids and there good...101,000 on the motor...i unplugged the o2 sensor and plugged it back in while it was running yesterday and now it dosent smoke but is still sputtery when i touch the gas hard

well i found out that the sputtering and popping was when i did my valve adjustment i guess i forgot to tighten a set of intake bolts and they came off so no air for the no.2 cylinder and my timing was off a bit so...thanx anyways guys...its nice to know i can depend on my hona tech buddies to be there when theres a prob...thanx guys
