Default Whats needed to swap a f23a1 into a 5th gen.

This is the f23a1, along with 5 speed tranny. Different motor mounts? Problems with obd 1 to obd 2? Need for new axels?

I know this sounds like a stupid swap, but I found a low mileage 2002 accord engine with tranny, also has the ecus, and axels. (around 10k miles total)

thanks!

Depends on what year your 5th gen is. 94-95 are OBD1, 96-97 are OBD2. The Ex's came w/ the F22B1 which have VTEC and the motor is 99% the same as the F23.

So tell us the year and we could help you better.

Question is, how much are you paying for this swap?

It came out of a totaled car, and its a great deal. I saw the swap before it came out of the car.I paid around 500 bucks, thats why I can't turn it down. You guys would do the same right?

This is less that a 1/3 of what a h22a would cost me, and I plan to boost the engine after I get it. More reliable than my 200k engine, even though it has great compression still.

So back to the swap...thoughts?

no, he doesnt need the converion harness, but off the top of my head, arent some plugs different on the motor side? and I do think that he'll need an OBD1 dist. and a OBD1 vtec computer.
