Is anyone on here building or has built a DOHC Non-Vtec B18A/B motor, is it worth it or is it better to go Turbo?

Yeah, I have a goal set of about 150-180whp, I guess turbo is the cheapest and easiest way. The only thing is I don't think I'll get those numbers becuase My 97 LS is an Auto, I know, Swap to 5spd, I would but don't got the funds and can't really find a decent trans with everything to do the swap here in Hawaii. Hopefull it can make some power on 5-6 PSI on my auto LS. I know I'm gonna get flammed but who cares.

with an auto it would be better to first take care of the transmission especially with high miles, this would be a goot time to find an auto b16 trans or even a gsr auto trans with an LSD if it's available.
Without getting into higher compression or more displacment a supercharger would be the cheapest and depending on your cars setup best mod for boost as it gives the car much needed around town power.

Well, I have about 63,000 miles on the auto trans is that still high mileage? I was thining of putting a better torque converter in like the Level10 Torque converter, you guys ever heard of them? Also I've seen some Automatic JDM GSR trannies on Ebay, but never saw a Auto B16 trans yet, would the JDM GSR or B16 Automatic trans work with the B18B motor, or do I need the JDM ECU and TCM? Supercharger doesn't seem like a bad idea, I might think about that instead of Turbo, how about a full JDM GSR motor and auto trans swap? Or LS/Vtec with an auto JDM GSR trans? Just thinking about stuff to do.

Realisticly though I probably wanna be pushing less than 180whp, more like 150-165whp, is this achievable with just a bolt on turbo lit tuned or would it be more if its tuned, I wanna run about 5-7psi daily driven.

It was just a thought, but I'll take your word for it, thanks for that info.
