Default Motor mount help

I know that my tranny mount is busted, i went to Acura for something else about a month ago, and they said my lower tranny mount was busted, i made an appointment on monday to get it fixed, and i go in there and now they say, both lower mounts are busted, and the top two are "cracking" I inspected the driver side mount myself, it looks fine.

How would the top two "crack". Its not like im jumping on my motor.

Obviously, the motor needs to be pulled to replace a few of these. Acura wanted roughly 750$+ tax to do all 4. But anyways, how would the top two wear out, obviously the bushings and what not could go bad, but "crack".

Any help would be cool

Thanks in advance

when one mount goes bad it puts more stress on the remander of good mounts and they start to go quicker. the rubber in the mount gets soft or rips. you dont have to take the motor out to change them

this is a common problem on DA's due to their age (I'm assuming it's a da you have)

$700 is way too much.
If the steel bracket is not cracked, just replace the bushings with poly inserts, Prothane makes a good kit. This will save you a ton of money.

If the brackets themselves are cracked, then look to source a used set of brackets off the classifieds here, or at a junkyard.

The motor does not need to be pulled to replace them...the front and sides are fairly easy...the rear is a pain in the ***.

$700 is crap. Find a friend thats into cars or a good shop and they'll be able to replace them for you. Is this for a 90-03 Integra? That front tranny mount takes alot of stess and normally wear out after time. You could probably be good just replacing that one and you should be fine. That one mount really keeps the whole motor from rocking.

Just do one at a time and it should be no sweat. Just have a crowbar around so you can tilt the motor back and forth to get the old and new mounts in there.
