Help with diganosis of problem, think is its a bad head gasket but i don't know.
I have a stock b18c1 that is use for lapping/daily use, i never pulled the head and i belive it is the OEM head gasket.
When i lift and press back on the trottle at high rpm...like to lift of a corner and then gas on hard....i puff smoke...light color i would say blue but could be like grey too...it's light. I can go lapping on a track fo 1 horus and have full oil..but it does puff some times...
Also where the tranny meets the block, right where the VIN is there is oil deposits there, i wipe is and it returns later after some time...it's quite a bit after a month of driving. Ther is a metal tab of the head gasket that sticks out at that point of the block head assembly and it's also gets covers in oil.
Is this a sign of a leaky head gasket? the car does not seem to burn oil but does puff somtims.....never blue smoke at startup so not the guides and the rings seem to be good.
Is there somthing more i can do to test out stuff..would a comperssion test show me anything conclusive? how do i perform a leak down test.
Thanks for your hlp

it may be your cam seals... u sed oil leaks down onto your block, next to the vin, check the seals right where the valve cover meets your head. it happens sometimes
