Civic Si clutch cable not working w/ b16a!!
well i read on here the clutch cable should work, but when i had it on the cable was all the way out... and just barely fit. the nut you use to change the engagement point for the clutch is all the way out and will not tighten at all!
so today i decided to take out the clutch cable all the way from the pedal to the tranny and reinstall it.. after doing this the cable doesn't even really fit anymore.. the cable i have seems to be too short. anyone else have this problem??
anyway threads w/ pics always get the most replies so here's a pic of jennie finch

My reading comprehension has been all but eliminated with that picture, you know... That's a cheap shot.
I got a cable from an Integra, and the nut is still most of the way to the top. It might have something to do with the Clutchmasters clutch I have, or it might not. There's enough room to eliminate any preload on the release bearing, however.

the stock cable worked with the stock b16 clutch , when i upgraded to a 1600lb plate it was like yours i needed a pry bar to pry the clutch arm up to get it on , just do that, make sure your nut is threaded a little bit so you can adjust it when it stretches or wears
when i did have the cable on, the engagement point was basically right at the very end of the pedal when letting off.. i couldn't lower it at all

I used the stock cable in my old hatch (with a b18a), but found that there was pretty much no play in the clutch lever thingamabob, so I trimmed off the outer casing on the clutch cable so the nut could mount in a higher spot. Worked great

yeah i'm gonna go get a cable today.. i'm probably just gonna go 2 napa or kragen.. i know i know i should be using oem honda parts
Just to clarify, most peoples OLD stock clutch cables will fit. Mostly due to the fact
that they are a few years old, and usually stretched a little bit. Whatever works
If your getting a new cable, then definatly go with the Integra cable. Perfect fit.

the best bet is an integra cable, however the crx clutch cable will work. i had the same problem and instead of all this prying and what not i took the braket that holds the adjusting nut off, put the clutch cable into the arm then bolted down the braket while everything is in place. you might have already figured this out, but i didn't feel like reading through all the post.
well i got the integra clutch cable in, but the engagement point is still really high.. the clutch engages right as i'm about to let off the pedal still. i'm wondering if maybe my clutch is jacked and not allowing me to adjust the engagement point?? i have the cable tightened as tight as i could get it, but there is still plenty of thread left to adjust it more.
Some pressure plates are just like that, depending on the design of the clutch diaphragm. Dont overtighten the cable though or you will have the throwout bearing constantly riding on the pressure plate.

from my understanding tho when the cable is tightened the engagement point on the clutch pedal is lower and closer to the firewall, but when it is loosened the engagement point is all the way out at the end of the pedal. so my problem is my engagement point is always out on the very end of the pedal and i have the little nut on there tightened about a inch or so from the top of the threaded part on the clutch cable. i need to make the engagement point somewhere in the middle of the pedal or even almost to the firewall. i hear leaving my engagement point really high up on the pedal can wear my clutch down faster.. as in a lot faster than normal
