B20 Integra- What trans?
Whats up guys..Ive been doing a lot of reading and research and heres what I've been contemplating.
My current set up is a B20 longblock with my stock ls tranny clutch and flywheel.
I have the opportunity to pick up a light weight flywheel, brand new exedy clutch, and a b16 tranny all for around $700. I don't do that much highway driving, just the local highways around my area and I'm so tired of my stock LS gears they are way too long.
Does anyone think a b20 block with a b16 tranny would feel decent or should I just save up more and go with a GSR tranny?
thanks for your input

I think I'm gunna go with the b16. Eventually this thing will be b20/vtec but for now its just my LS replacement after i jumped timing.
I know the car will be flying through gears, but does the shorter gear ratios really make a huge difference in speed?

yes. that's the point. you will accellerate a lot faster than with a crappy ls tranny.

i put in a B20 in my automatic LS. Using the automatic tranny, it bolted right on within a few hours. Using the LS Ecu, I was able to climb hills faster without having to downshift. So I recommend the automatic LS tranny

YEAH!!!
MY LS had a blown head gasket and I got a killer deal on B20. Since b series are compatible, I bolted it on with the help of some cool guys at honda of phx.

Thanks for your input and everything but I was specifically talking about my 5spd LS tranny vs. a 5spd B16 tranny.
My ls shredded the timing belt and had blown rings so it was time for a step up to the b20 and I love it.

b16 still faster with forced induction.

Stay with the LS just make more power you always want a gear w/ long tranny so you can spool ur turbo there is no need for short gear tranny just more power

what's the point of even correcting people, when there will always be new people that still think this is true?
