Default well it happened yesterday

well guys all i can say is that im lucky. yesterday my friend and i went out for a good ride through the canyon, but we didnt get there. we were going down a road to get there and i pulled a stand up wheelie.(non-residental area, non populated) well when i shifted into second gear (i just toe mine into gear instead of pulling in the clutch) i was directly over a manhole cover. kicked the bike backwards (i was at the top end of first 70-75mph) and fell. but i didnt just fall. i tumbled 335 ft.(acident report done by police)
i had on my rf-1000, mesh jacket (nitro jacket, c.e. certified armor in shoulder elbow and back), jeans, joe rocket pheonix gloves, and alpinestars gp-s racing boots. since i had a mesh jacket on, i decided i didnt want to slide on my chest or back, cause it would have eaten through the jacket, so i did my best to tumble on my impact areas (shoulders elbows). well when i was starting to slow down in my fall, i tried to put my leg down, BAD MISTAKE! i suffered a spiral fracture on my left hip. my tail bone is killing me, i got a lump on my left forearm the size of a baseball, i got a little rash where the road did eat through the jacket a little on my right forearm. surprisingly i only got a little rash on my right knee and it didnt even eat through my (ahem, express men's jeans) i only scratched my visor on my helmet (absolutly no scratches on any part of the rest of the helmet) so im hoping i can keep it. after all it is a $452.99 rf-1000 shoei nerve.
so the po, po show up and a firetruck shows up they check me out and did a report. the cop said he cant see how im still alive after that fall. sorry if none of this is making sense, im high on loratab. but anyway WEAR YOU GEAR GUYS it might have saved my life.

I'm trying to make fun of you, stop being understanding!

At least you don't try and defend your actions... that's much worse.

bah these days i can't stand hearing of other riders going down, out of negligance or not. There's a time and place to pull wheelies and what not, and at least you knew that rather then pulling them on the freeway or on main street or something.

glad to hear your ok, and at least you got SOME summer riding under your belt this year

Wells let's just ask.. "Are you gonna do it again?"

Because if you don't learn from your mistakes, you're an idiot. And don't say, "Yea.. I'm never shifting my wheelies over a manhole cover again."

It's crazy cuz I was just reading through the book by Keith Code called, "Twist of the Wrist," and in the chapter on falling he talks about counting to 3 once you 'THINK' you have stopped because the fall does something to your inner ear and you try to stand up or sit up while you are still moving and essentially do more damage because of it. I thought about it and was like, 'Nah, that would be weird,' but then I saw a guy do it in one of my stunt vids.

Glad you aren't too messed.... a for j00.

Good to hear you're okay. Whatever you did is besides the point; I'm sure you'll learn on your own.

People like to do them. But then someone will say "our race bred machines weren't made for that" .. and you've never seen Rossi or Hayden riding wheelies? On their hundreds and hundreds of dollar bikes, the fastest and most powerul race bikes in the world.

The fact that he wheelied it up is over. 95% of the people in this forum have done it. I'm sure he learned, and if not then it's his risk, but dont break the guy down even more.

Hundreds and hundreds of dollars? Ya mean like thousands?

Dude, in his other thread he said "flame away." Some of us don't like getting called out on doing dumb ****, but WOP seems to be able to take it.

And I didn't see anyone trying to "break the guy down."
