Default Accelerator is Broken!!

I just bought a 4dr from my neighbor, which i think is in mint condition(Visual Wise). Only problem is that the Accelerator is broken or something. it is like always being pushed down. my friend and i took a look at it. he said that something is wrong with the sping(coil) that is located on the TB. What can this problem be? I already searched, didnt find much at all.

Will i be able to fix this? as a DIY?

Oh, also when i turned on the car, the car almost shot out of the garage. LOL! almost hit a fence and bushes, doing so i snapped my alternator belt.

any ideas on what to do or how can i fix this?

have you tried adjusting the throttle cable? if it's adjusted too high then that car will be constantly given higher amounts of gas.

naw i didnt try it, but the stuff is like rusted on, the car has been sitting there for 3 years. i forgot to mention that, But i dont have to step on the gas pedal for anything because it is litterally being held down ALL THE TIME, when it is off or on.

do this first, there's a bracket on the intake manifold where the throttle cable routes to with a nut at the end, adjust there!!11111111111

If your gas pedal is always pressed down..then the throttle cable is too tight.
