Default H23A1 ?!?!?!??!

im getting tired of this... some say h23a1 is vtec some say no. i thought the h22a1 was pretty much the same as h23a1 but vtec and the h23a1 was non vtec. if anyone can clear this up please help me haha. you can also email me at BDRphase2@hotmail.com

non vtec 160 hp and 156ft torque. in the FAQ it shows all the prelude engine stats...

If you're looking for one of those engines.....and you can't find the h22a....just get the h23.....its a damn good engine.....a lot of torque:power.....you'll be satisfied (good for future boost).....

oh no not this again-

maybe YOUR h23a block doesnt have a vtec head on it, in japan land it does

point is..to the original poster: the h23A1 is non vtack, and h22a1 is m4d vtack y0

ok, thanks for the help, but should i stay with my h23a1 prelude and build it up or buy a h22a1 and build it up?

it really depends what you want out of it.

boost? build the h23 and turbo the garbage out of it

n/a? think about doing some research on an h23vtec conversion and build that up.

but a good n/a build will cost you.

well, i want the car to be reliable and still have power...i was thinkking about 300hp with a turbo would be easy and fairly reliable...in t hat case should i stay with the h23 or rebuild a h22

you can really go either way, but do some research. a lot of people will say a built h23 will result in more reliable power due to the closed deck configuration of the block.

and with 300whp of boost, vtec wont make much a difference
