Alarm in a 2002 Honda Accord
I have a 2002 Honda Acoord and I want to put in a Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 remote start alarm inside of it. The car is an automatic V6 and I am wondering if anyone has put the alrm or a similar one in a car like this. I need to know if there are any tricks, tips, secrets to this alarm in this car. How long did it take, where did you mount the brain unit (I understand if you dont want to admit that). I have done car stereos and full systems, so I know wiring, but I have never done an alarm. I would appriciate it if you could help me at all, thank you.
If you have never done alarms before you don't want to try to do this one alone! You will need a wiring tech sheet with the color codes and locations. If your car is equipped with transponder keys (keys with the chip in them) you will most likely need the dealer to cut a spare key because you will have to give up a key for the remote start. You will need a volt\ohm meter. Get one that is digital so it will not burn up the ECU or pop out an air bags. Beside that you will need a lot of time and a good set of crimpier, striper, soldering iron and electrical tape. Since this is your first one, plan to spend a good day working on it. As an experienced installer it would take me 4-6 hours to install one of these from start to finish. I would highly recommend that you take it to a professional or get a professional to help you with the install.
