Default Sleeved Engine + Si Greddy Kit = 257whp?

Car: 00 Civic Si

Setup:
b16a2 Benson Sleeved Block
9:1 JE 84mm pistons
Eagle Rods
B17a Head
GSR Cams
ITR Valve Springs
Kteller 3" exhaust with Apexi N1 Muffler
Now has 12,000 Miles on her (and very reliable

Turbo Kit:
Greddy 99-00 Si Kit
Had it since 2002, probably about 30,000 Miles on it (many freeway miles - if that matters)

HKS EVC II boost controller (might be III - Will check later)

At 12psi:

I had it tuned about a year ago and just now am I trying to figure out if I should be making about 300whp, like Church auto told me when I had her tuned. He told me that my turbo just couldn't push anymore air, but when doing research on here, I found people making much more power than me with similar setups. Could this be because my turbo is a bit old and could use a rebuild? Or should I upgrade to some CTR cams and a 2.5" downpipe. I just want to see 300whp out of my built motor. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

300whp is gonna take a mircale with that turbo. because of that fact that you now have a much larger bore, your motor moves more air than the turbine side can handle, so its gonna spool quick and die off quick.

i think i remember seeing a 300whp integra with a greddy kit, but hte motor was stock and it took some 15psi to make it. it was on the boosted-hybrid forums

if you invested soo much money into building the motor, why dont you piece together a nice kit ?

yeah after 36 pulls and massive heat soak it did 309whp and 242wtq@17psi on pump gas. I would guess if it wasn't so heat soaked it would have been in the 325-330range depending on air temp. before NDRA Norwalk I am going to get a race gas tune at 22psi or so and see what it does.

the compressor isn't the limiting factor of the turbo the exhaust wheel is. a TD06H wheel in the compressor and exhaust will make it easily capable of 400+whp.

here is my set up:

greddy kit with 2.5" DP>3" exhaust
GE sleeves 81mm bore
endyn pistons 8.8:1 because of them being for a GSR and I use a ITR head
eagle rods
hondata
880cc injectors
3 bar map

edit thank for the resize on my dyno sheet

So basically the 18G is the limiting factor for me The reason I like the greddy kit is so I can have A/C and I love the low spool time of it. Plus I think its just a great kit and after having it for 3-4 years, its been great to me. I guess I'm gunna have to look into upgrading my turbo. So CTR cams will not help out the lack of air? And what is the best way to go about upgrading my TD05 without having to replace the whole turbo setup (mani/turbo/downpipe) Thanks guys!

well you will need to find a turbo with a Nissan T25 flange for it to bolt up but if you go that route be sure to port the crap out of that mani and cast elbow

if you have the sleeved engine why dont you just upgrade your turbo set up? you can run a rev hard or drag mani or one of the many ac friendly manifolds out there and run a t3/t4 or something a little bigger. Itll be worth it in the end

I have thought of that but if you do that you might as well sell the entire greddy kit and start over. the Greddy IC isn't that great for big power and the IC piping is pretty small

id be really happy to be at 300whp, running 11's and be as reliable as these guys are with sleaved blocks and there setups

also, couldnt you run a gt28rs on these greddy manifolds??? if so that would be an awesome upgrade for both of you

So I've decided to go with a t3/t04e setup since it looks to be the most econmical way to go about upgrading. I'm just found a drag mani/downpipe so all I need is a turbo and a wastegate Does anybody know if my oil lines from my greddy kit will hook up to a t3/t04e turbo? Or would i need some parts. Sorry, i've been dormant for about a year with my setup. Time for some freshening up.

I just want 300whp and good streetability. would a T3 be better for this? or just go with the t3/t04e? Thanks!

imo your best route would be to get a gt28rs and bolt it on

I agree with coptzer. you will make much more power with a gt28 then with the 18g. It's just way too small for a built motor.

You can see by the torque falling off liek that that the turbo is out of breathe. However, if you want 300whp you will have the same problem with a gt28rs (there is a dyno plot by boosted hybrid of someone who's torque falls off a little after wher eyou are).

I'd recomend a gt2871 (turbo I run, spools fast as hell on my b16, supposedly good for 400 - 450whp) or possibly a gt30

hmm, that just seems low to me, but i dont know.

Nice motor, i would save up and get a whole new turbo setup.

Dammn... good memory man. It was indeed Hondata s200 I agree the #'s look a little low. But hell, it was tuned to perfection by Church Automotive and thats the best he could. But wait, the gt28 wouldn't get me to 300whp? Right now i'm for sure leaning towards a t3/t04e setup.

what downpipe would I use with the GT28RS? Does the greddy one bolt up? And would my greddy oil lines hook right up to it (as well as the t3/t04e)? Thanks!

Get rid of the cast elbow and you can make 300 whp easy on that turbo. Port the wastegate hole and get a better actuator and you will make much more HP.
