discoloring on headers
I had the greddy stainless header on my b18 sol, you cant stop it from changing color. thats just the way they are. i think they look better once they change.. good choice of header tho.

It's characteristic of stainless steel after exposure to high temps. Just look at any stainless steel part after it's been welded on.
Happens too when you're machining steel and you take too agressive a cut- the chips that come off really hot are blue. I always wondered if it had to do with cobalt as an alloying agent.

Yep I was drilling holes in some 18ga. stainless steel plate one time w/ a drill press, and I noticed the edges of the holes were slightly blue.
i think the color change is nice!
just clean it before you first start the car, remove those finger prints and oil stains...if not it's going to leave a mark...

got greddy headers today..what do i put in the headers to stop it from turning bronze or goldish? i herd you jsut wipe it of with some alcohol.
PS: where did you get it from? price??
you need to clean your fingerprints, or any other oil that could have gotten on your headers off before you start your car!!!!!!
if you don't the color won't change evenly and you will have fingerprints all over your headers.
that is probably why you rub it down with alcohol.
